Anthony Nwakaeme: Nigeria striker increases season tally in crucial win at Al Feiha

By Wale Mustapha
Experienced Nigerian striker, Anthony Nwakaeme is living up to his transfer hype in the Saudi Arabia Premier League as he registered his sixth goal of the campaign in just 10 games for Al Feiha.
Nwakaeme’s latest goal came on Friday in his side’s commanding 2-0 away win at Al Fateh. The duel played at the Abdullah Bin Jalawi Stadium in Al-Hasa had victory written for the hosts in the build up, but Nwakaeme and his teammates had other plan.
Al Fehia were on the back foot in the opening half of the match as they had to deal with much defending against their hosts.
However, the second half saw a rejigged Al Fehia who came out with more purposes and intense.
It would then lead to opening goal for the visitors in the 70 minutes which Nwakaeme dispatched perfectly following a brilliant lay off pass from Bander Al-Mutari.
Al Fateh thought they have equalized in the 81st minutes but Mourad Batna had his goal chalked off by VAR.
The visitors put the game to rest with the second goal in the added minutes as Saud Zidan capitalized on a mixup in the opponents’ defense to bury the chance.
Nwakaeme has now garnered six goals and provided two in nine matches for Al Feiha in the current season.
The club has also moved up to eight on the log with 15 points from 10 games. In their next outing, Al Feiha will have a chance to consolidate on the recent victory with a home game against Al Batin.
