Antonio Rudiger has sent a signed Real Madrid shirt to the red-hot Nigerian striker after replicating Victor Boniface’s trademark celebration.
Rudiger was on target as Mexico came from behind to share the spoils with Germany during the last international break and went on to celebrate his goal with what has now turned into a trademark celebration for Super Eagles star.
Boniface joined German Bundesliga outfit, Bayer Leverkusen from Belgian Pro League club, Union St Gilloise for €12m this summer and has been instrumental to the Xabi Alonso-led-side success this season.
The 22-year-old Nigerian has been in fine form since joining the club for £22 million in the summer, winning the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award three times in a row.
The German star’s gesture deepened the friendship between him and the Bayer Leverkusen star.
“To my lil brother, Victor Boniface. All the best in the future, more hustle, more goals,” Rudiger wrote on the gifted kit.
The Super Eagles forward was gracious in his acceptance as he responded with a show of appreciation; “Thanks, a lot, big bro.”
