Nigeria’s ex-international Ayisat Yusuf has expressed her excitement following her appointment as the new Head Coach of the Tikkurilan Palloseura (TIPS FC) girls’ teams in charge of the T2014 and T2015 age groups in Finland.
The former Super Falcons midfielder, who earned 68 caps for Nigeria, brings a rich blend of international playing experience and top-level coaching expertise to her new role.
Describing her move to TIPS FC as “an honour to serve,” Yusuf said she looks forward to working with a motivated and supportive coaching team to inspire the next generation of players.
“I’m delighted to share that I have been appointed as the Head Coach of the T14/T15 Girls Competitive League at Tikkurilan Palloseura (TIPS FC) in Finland,” she said.
“It is a true honour to lead such a talented and motivated group of young players, supported by an excellent coaching team alongside Nea and Marko. Together, we aim to foster growth, teamwork, and excellence both on and off the pitch.”
“I look forward to contributing to the continued development of these players and to an inspiring journey ahead with the TIPS FC family.”
A UEFA B license holder, Yusuf has continued to make significant contributions to women’s football and advocacy. She serves on the board of the UEFA FARE Network (Fight Against Racism in Europe) since 2015 and is the founder of the SheFootball Initiative, established in 2018 to empower female footballers in Africa. In 2024, she launched the Ayisat Yusuf Football Academy in Lagos, Nigeria.
Her decorated playing career includes appearances at the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup in China, the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and two FIFA U-19 World Cups (Thailand 2004 and Canada 2002). She also won three gold medals from the African Women’s Championship and the All-Africa Games (2003, 2004, 2007).
TIPS FC expressed delight at her appointment, noting that Yusuf’s wealth of experience, leadership, and passion for development will be instrumental to the club’s progress.
“We are proud to have Ayisat Yusuf in our ranks and confident that her expertise and experience will add great value to the club’s growth,” the club stated.
