Bankole Olowookere highlights positivity of reaching President Federation Cup Final

By Saheed Afolabi

Naija Ratels head coach, Bankole Olowookere is impressed with his side run of reaching the President Federation Cup final despite losing by a lone goal to eventual winners, Rivers Angels.

The Nigeria U17 gaffer said the Abuja based side came into the final with a positive mindset of winning their first national title.

The former Lagos Festival head coach described the run as a success taking motivation from the fact that, the club is just four years in existence and reaching the target set in their five years developmental plan.

“We came into the game with the impression of winning the Federation Cup to set a record, to make history but its so unfortunate we couldn’t win,” Olowookere told NigeriaFootball.ng.

“The second history was being made because we were able to qualify for this final and it was our debut in the final. We had a five year program when the club was established in the Nigeria football circle.

“We tried to make three years as developmental one and then the fourth and fifth to get the dividend of it and that’s what have taken us this far.

“So because we were not able to win is not bad because we win some and lose some. At least we won some teams before reaching the final, so we take it as a faith.”
