Barcelona have confirmed that captain Raphinha has signed a contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2030.

The Catalan club announced the agreement on Thursday through its official account on X, publishing a video featuring the Brazil international alongside president Joan Laporta.

The new deal secures the future of one of Barcelona’s most important attacking players, after Raphinha established himself as a key part of head coach Hansi Flick’s plans.

Raphinha has made a strong contribution in front of goal during the 2026-27 season. He has scored 19 times so far, including 15 goals in La Liga and four in the UEFA Champions League.

He has now scored 94 goals in 190 appearances for Barcelona.

Raphinha’s rise at Barcelona

The winger’s progress at the club has followed a difficult initial period after he arrived in the summer of 2022. Through determination and sustained hard work, he gradually became an increasingly influential figure in the side.

His importance has grown beyond his performances on the pitch, with Raphinha also taking on a leadership role within the dressing room. He is currently in his fifth season with Barcelona and has become one of the club’s captains.

Barcelona’s decision to extend his contract reflects the club’s desire to retain a central part of its squad for the coming years. The agreement also signals the board’s intention to preserve the team’s core as it continues to compete for domestic and European honours.

Raphinha’s form has made him one of the team’s leading attacking threats, combining goalscoring with the ability to influence matches and provide leadership. His renewed commitment gives Barcelona continuity in an area the club considers fundamental to its plans.

The extension means the Brazil captain will remain at Barcelona through 2030, bringing an end to uncertainty over his long-term future and confirming his continued place in the club’s sporting project.
