Barcelona make two changes for Aston Villa as Hamza Abdulkarim starts on the bench

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has made two changes to his starting line-up for Tuesday’s Champions League league-phase meeting with Aston Villa at Camp Nou.

Gerard Martin replaces Frenkie de Jong, while Anthony Gordon comes in for Karim Adeyemi compared with the side that began Barcelona’s La Liga match against Alaves.

Barcelona’s starting XI is: Joan Garcia, Farinas, Pau Cubarsi, Gerard Martin, Joao Cancelo, Rodri, Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Fermin, Anthony Gordon and Raphinha.

Frenkie de Jong is among the substitutes, alongside Wojciech Szczesny, Livakovic, Guillem Victor, Alejandro Balde, Alex Campos, Gavi, Bernal, Oriol Jorgin, Karim Adeyemi, Gabriel Jesus and Hamza Abdulkarim.

The inclusion of Abdulkarim among the replacements means the forward could make an appearance from the bench during the fourth round of the Champions League league phase.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has also named his team for the match.

Villa will begin with Suzuki, Matty Cash, Victor Lindelof, Pau Torres, Ian Maatsen, Boubacar Kamara, Joao Gomes, John McGinn, Emiliano Buendia, Manzami and Jackson.
