Bayelsa Queens part ways with Charity Reuben and Salisu Anuoluwapo after Cup win

2023 Women’s Federation Cup champions, Bayelsa Queens has released two players as it prepares for the 2023/2024 season.

In a statement, the club confirmed that Charity Reuben and Salisu Anuoluwapo are the duo leaving Bayelsa Queens FC at the end of this season.

Reuben rejoined the Yenegoa-based side last season after the expiration of her contract with the Israeli women’s side, Hapoel Beer Sheva.

The former BIIK Kazygurt player is leaving the 2021/2022 league champions alongside former DreamStar FC Ladies captain, Salisu Anuoluwapo.

Salisu joined Bayelsa Queens from the second-tier Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship side after its relegation from the top flight and was part of the team that won the 2021/2022 league title.

The retained players by the team are Okeke Oyinyechukwu, Monle Omini, Edet Glory, Blessing Ilivieda, Alake Kasali, Igwe Uzoamaka, Angela Michael, Miracle Joseph, Flourish Sabastine, Mercy Itimi, Aderemi Mary, Favour Emmanuel.

Other retained players are Zainab Olapade, Touta Evanick, Natasha Witika, Etim Edidiong, Anjor Mary, Igboamalu Chinyere, Uduakobong Peter, Moshood Shakirat, Otega Emmanuel, Jallow Isatou, Penda Bah, Matty Manga, Perpetual Agyekum, Dagogo Favour, Veronika Appiah, and Ekong Rose.

The 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League bronze winner went on a three-week break and will resume on the 21st of July, 2023.
