Bendel Insurance have agreed a new front-of-shirt sponsorship with Premium Trust Bank for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The bank’s logo will appear on the club’s distinctive yellow and green shirts, replacing Sterling Bank, who had been Bendel Insurance’s front-of-shirt partner since 2021.

The development was reported in a post on the X handle of Broadcaster For NPFL Nino. An official presentation of the new Premium Trust Bank-branded kits is expected to take place in Benin in the coming days.

Sterling Bank’s partnership with Bendel Insurance broke new ground in Nigerian football during the 2021/22 season. It was the first private shirt sponsorship worth N50m secured by a Nigerian club, with Insurance competing in the Nigeria National League (NNL) at the time.

The value of that agreement later increased to N75m after Bendel Insurance won promotion. The partnership remained in place until the current season.

The arrival of a new shirt sponsor comes as Bendel Insurance seek to challenge for honours following their 2023 Federation Cup success. That triumph brought an end to the club’s 43-year wait for a trophy.

According to the NPFL sponsorship tracker for 2026/27, Bendel Insurance had been one of seven clubs without a front-of-shirt sponsor before the agreement with Premium Trust Bank was secured.

Premium Trust Bank has established a significant presence across Nigerian sport. It is the headline sponsor of the National Sports Festival in Ogun 2024 and Enugu 2026, while also sponsoring Bayelsa Queens.

The bank is additionally the official kit sponsor of NPFL referees and Match Commissioners, and is a partner of Team Nigeria athletes Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume.
