Black Friday for NPFL as Bayelsa United loses goalkeeper trainer

Nigeria Premier Football League side, Bayelsa United have announced the death of its goalkeeper trainer, coach Ernest Salolomo Teigbanyo who passed away on Thursday after a brief illness.
The Media Officer of the club, Jackson Hananeel confirmed the sad news in a statement released on Friday.
“Bayelsa United is extremely saddened to report that our goalkeepers’ coach Ernest Teigbanyo has passed away after a brief illness yesterday,” the statement reads.
“Our thoughts and prayers to his family at this sad and difficult time.”
Ernest was part of the technical crew of the Future Eagles (U15) national team as well as the Golden Eaglets (U-17) national team. Under his radar, Nigeria has produced young save hands such as Akpan Udoh, Sunday Stephen, amongst other great talents.
In his playing days, the late Ernest was one of the finest goalkeepers in Nigeria.
He featured for Eagle Cement FC Sharks FC, Udorji United FC, Bayelsa United FC, Timbisa Classic FC of South Africa as well as Mabopone Young Masters in South Africa.
He was a coach who focused on grassroots development and he had the opportunity to manage teams like Rivers Angels, Sharks FC, Dolphin FC, Nigeria U-15, and U17 national teams as well as Bayelsa United.
