Bosun Lawal: Celtic hand Nigerian-Irish contract extension

Scottish Premiership champions, Celtic have extended the contract of Nigeria prospect, Bosun Lawal.

The Ireland born defender signed additional three years to his existing deal to guarantee him a place at the Hoops till the summer of 2026.

Celtic have revealed that Lawal will join Fleetwood Town in the English League One this season on loan.

The 20-year-old arrived at Celtic in 2021 after spending some years at Watford academy.

Lawal has been a focal part of Celtic and he starred for their youth team in the Scottish Lowland League and the Premier League International Cup. He helped the club win the Glasgow Cup at Ibrox last season.

He made a valuable impact in the youth team which earned him a promotion to the first team and made his debut against Greenock Morton in the Scottish Cup.

Bosun was included in Celtic first team preseason tour of Portugal and Japan.
