Nigeria Champions, Rivers United have arrived in Dar es Salaam ahead of Sunday’s clash with Young Africans.
The Nigerian sole representative in the continent touched down at the Julius Nyerere International Airport, Dar es Salaam by 3:00 am Friday.
Stanley Eguma’s side will face Young Africans on Sunday in the return leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final.
The team faces a tough task after a 2-0 loss to the Tanzanian side in the first leg last Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Two goals in the second half from Fiston Mayele ensured a 2-0 win for Young Africans.
Rivers United will have to win by at least a two-goal margin to take the game to extra time or better still by a three-goal margin to qualify for the semi-final.
The Nigerian side is making its first appearance in the quarter-final of the Competition. They remain Nigeria’s surviving team on the continent after Plateau United, Remo Stars, and Kwara United early crashing out of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.
