Technical Adviser of Kwara United, Tunde Sanni, has declared his team’s readiness ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup first round, second leg encounter against Asante Kotoko of Ghana.
The Nigerian side narrowly lost the first leg 4-3 in a thrilling contest last weekend at the Baba Yara Stadium in Accra, setting up a must-win scenario in the return leg.
The decisive second leg will be played on Sunday at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, where Kwara United will be aiming to overturn the deficit and secure progression to the next round of the competition.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Sanni expressed confidence in his players’ preparedness and determination.
“We are fired up and ready to finish the job,” he said. “Our goal here in Abeokuta is to qualify for the next round, to the delight of our supporters, whose unwavering backing we still count on.”
Kwara United must win by at least a one-goal margin without conceding, or by two clear goals if Asante Kotoko score, to guarantee qualification.
The Harmony Boys will look to leverage home support as they seek a place in the next phase of Africa’s second-tier club competition.
