The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially begun the process of appointing a substantive Secretary-General, less than four months after naming Nigerian football administrator Samson Adamu as Acting Secretary-General.

In a vacancy announcement published on its official website, CAF invited suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position, which is responsible for managing the day-to-day administration and operations of Africa’s football governing body.

As the organisation’s chief administrative officer, the Secretary-General will oversee the implementation of CAF’s strategic objectives, coordinate its administrative functions, and ensure the effective management of its activities.

CAF stated that interested candidates have until July 10, 2026, to submit their applications.

The recruitment process underscores CAF’s commitment to filling one of its most critical executive positions with a permanent appointment as the organisation continues to strengthen its administrative leadership.
