Chelsea have a huge supporters base in Nigeria – Lesley Ugochukwu

Nigerian forward Lesley Ugochukwu believes Chelsea have a huge supporters base in Nigeria.

The Nigerian joined Chelsea from Rennes during the summer transfer window and have settled well at the club.

Ugochukwu said joining the Blues was a significant step in his career with the large supporters base the club have in Nigeria.

“Signing for a club like Chelsea means something for them(his parents), too. In Nigeria, it’s one of the big clubs that everyone supports,” Ugochukwu was quoted by Chelsea.

Ugochukwu grew through the ranks of Rennes before appearing in 35 matches for the club last season before joining the North London side.

The 19 year old joins the likes of John Mikel Obi, Celestine Babayaro and Victor Moses who have don the colors of Chelsea.
