Chiamaka Nnadozie Attends Burial of Stanley Nwabali’s Parents

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
In a heartfelt show of solidarity, Chiamaka Nnadozie, the acclaimed goalkeeper for Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, was present at the funeral of Stanley Nwabali’s parents.
Nwabali, the first-choice goalkeeper for both the Super Eagles and South African club Chippa United, recently laid his beloved parents to rest after losing them in quick succession.
His most recent loss occurred while he was representing Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.
Nnadozie, who recently starred for the Super Falcons in a 2-0 friendly victory over Cameroon, has returned home following the conclusion of the 2024/25 European season.
Her attendance at the funeral underscores the close-knit nature of the Nigerian football community, where players across both men’s and women’s teams stand together in moments of grief and support.
Both Nnadozie and Nwabali are the trusted goalkeepers for Nigeria’s national teams, symbolizing excellence and resilience between the posts.
Nwabali was excused from the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw with Russia on Friday to allow him to pay his final respects to his parents.
