Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has once again been crowned the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year after retaining the honour at the 2025 CAF Awards held on Wednesday in Morocco.
The Brighton and Hove Albion star edged Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Dlamini to win the award, marking her third consecutive triumph following victories in 2023 and 2024.
Nnadozie’s exceptional performances were pivotal to the Super Falcons’ success at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where her leadership and commanding presence in goal guided Nigeria to their 10th continental title.
She kept four clean sheets against Tunisia, Botswana, Algeria, and Zambia before conceding in the semi-final against South Africa.
Her stellar club form also contributed to the recognition. During her time with Paris FC, Nnadozie lifted the Coupe de France, a feat that later earned her a move to Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Women’s Super League (WSL).
The safe pair of hands capped off an outstanding year with nominations for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, FIFPRO, and FIFA Awards, reinforcing her status as one of the world’s elite goalkeepers.
