Chidiebere Nwakali Faces Setback in Aberdeen Scottish Cup Debut Due to Work Permit Issue

Nigerian midfielder Chidiebere Nwakali’s much-anticipated debut for Scottish club Aberdeen has been further delayed as he has been ruled out of Saturday’s William Hill Scottish Cup Fourth Round clash against St Mirren due to work permit issues, according to reports from Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN). Nwakali, who recently joined Aberdeen on loan from English Premier League giants Manchester City, is yet to make his official debut for the club.

Aberdeen had been hopeful of securing the necessary work permit in time for the highly anticipated clash against St Mirren, especially after Nwakali’s impressive performance in a friendly fixture against Locomotiv Tashkent in Dubai. However, the club’s efforts were in vain as they were unable to secure the required documentation in time. Speaking during the pre-match conference, Aberdeen manager Derek Mclnnes expressed his disappointment, stating, “Niall and Stevie are both back in training and in the squad for tomorrow. Chidi’s work permit is not yet through and will not be available.”

Chidiebere Nwakali, a talented midfielder and a key member of the Nigerian squad that triumphed in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup, joined Manchester City in 2015. However, he has yet to make an official appearance for the Citizens, spending most of his time on loan at various clubs including Malaga, Girona, IK Start, and Sogndal.

The setback faced by Nwakali in obtaining his work permit has undoubtedly disappointed both the player and Aberdeen fans who were eagerly awaiting his debut. Nevertheless, the club remains optimistic about resolving the issue and ensuring that Nwakali can contribute to their future matches.

Aberdeen’s supporters will now have to wait a little longer to witness Nwakali’s talents on the pitch. However, they can take solace in the fact that the club is actively working towards resolving the work permit issue, with hopes of seeing the Nigerian midfielder in action in the near future.

As the excitement builds around Chidiebere Nwakali’s potential impact at Aberdeen, fans and football enthusiasts alike eagerly await to see how he will fare in the Scottish Cup and the impact he can make on the team’s performance.
