Chinwendu Ihezuo on target as Monterrey defeat Club America

Nigeria forward, Chinwendu Ihezuo scored her fifth goal of the season for Mexican Liga MX Women’s side, Monterrey as the team secured a 2-0 win against Club America on Tuesday.
Monterrey had bounced back from a four-match winless run with a 5-2 win over Club Tijuana.
Club America in its previous game also ended a run of two games without a win with a 2-1 win against Queretaro.
Aylin Avilez opened the scoring for the host in the 66th minute taking her tally to 14 after 34 games.
Chinwendu doubled the lead for Monterrey in the 79th minute to also increase her goal tally for the season.
The former Guangdong Meizhou Hakka player came in for Carlee Giammona in the 71st minute before scoring her fifth goal of the season.
She has scored five goals in 10 games for Monterrey since joining the Mexican side from Chinese outfit, Guangdong Meizhou Hakka.
Monterrey occupy the top position on the table with 36 points after 15 games and top the log on superior goal difference ahead of Guadalajara Chivas.
Up next for Chinwendu and Monterey is an encounter with Atlas on May 6, at the Estadio Colomos, Zapopan.
