By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Chuba Akpom has been nominated for the English Championship player of the month award for November.
The Middlesbrough forward put up a fantastic goal-scoring form for his team last month and scored three goals in four English Championship games for his side in November.
Akpom scored a goal as his side defeated Hull City 1-3 on November 1 followed by another goal when Michael Carrick’s side played out a 1-1 draw with Bristol City on November 5.
On November 8, the former PAOK Salonika star also scored a goal during Midlesbrough’s 0-3 triumph over Blackpool.
He wasn’t able to score against Norwich (1-2) but stamped his goal-scoring skills last month.
Chuba will battle it out with Viktor Gyokeres (Coventry City), Ched Evans (Preston North End), Anel Ahmedhozic (Sheffield United), Amad Diallo (Sunderland), and Kyle Bartley (West Bromwich Albion) for the award.
United Kingdom (UK) born Akpom was born to Nigerian parents and has shown his intentions to play for the Super Eagles after representing England at youth level.
The 27-year-old forward is eligible to play for Nigeria and will hope to get a call-up from the coach of three times African Champions, Jose Peseiro.
