CNS/NOWA Cup 2025: Day Two fixtures thrill fans at Police College Kaduna

The 2025 Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) U-14 Boys and Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA) U-17 Girls Football Championships entered Day Two on Tuesday with eight group-stage matches thrilling fans and scouts at the Police College, Kaduna.

Organized by the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) and sponsored by the Nigerian Navy, the week-long tournament continued at full pace as teams from across Nigeria competed for early dominance in their groups.

CNS Cup – Boys U-14 Schedule:

The day’s action kicked off at 10:00 a.m. with Zamfara facing Kebbi on Pitch B and Kano battling Kogi on Pitch A. Both matches set the tone for a packed schedule of youth football.

At 11:00 a.m., Nasarawa took on Bayelsa on Pitch B, while Kwara clashed with Oyo on Pitch A in highly competitive encounters that drew vocal support from the stands.

The third round of games began at 12:00 p.m. with Bauchi vs. Ondo on Pitch B and a much-anticipated fixture between Niger and the Nigeria Army team on Pitch A.

Host state Kaduna wrapped up the CNS U-14 schedule for the day with a 1:00 p.m. face-off against Plateau, drawing a large home crowd eager to see their team in action.

NOWA Cup – Girls U-17 Schedule:

In the sole fixture for the girls’ division, Ondo squared off against the Nigeria Army at 1:00 p.m. on Pitch B. The match gave early insight into the strength of both teams as they look to advance from the group stage.

All matches were held at the Police College Kaduna, one of two official venues for this year’s championship. The second venue is the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.

Now in its 21st edition for the boys and 13th for the girls, the CNS/NOWA Cup continues to serve as a critical platform for youth development, discipline, and national unity through sports. The tournament runs throughout the week, promising more exciting fixtures and the emergence of new football talents from across Nigeria.
