Head coach of Nigeria U-20 women side Christopher Danjuma has named six senior internationals to his final 21-player roster for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colomnia.

Defenders Jumoke Alani, Rofiat Imuran, Comfort Folorunsho, and forwards Opeyemi Ajakaye, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu, and Flourish Sabastine, who has played for the Super Falcons, formed the major spine of the team.

The bronze-winning U-17 team at India 2022 also has players on the roster as they successfully transited to the next cadre of the national team.

The team also comprises goalkeeper Faith Omilana and forward Aminat Omowunmi Bello.

While the above-named players constitute the spine of the team, exciting talents like defender Shukurat Oladipo, Chioma Olise, captain Oluchi Ohaegbulam, and forward Juliet Akekoromowei provide the basis for high expectations.

Christopher Danjuma’s side will face Australia in the first of their two friendly games in Colombia ahead of the group opener at the tournament.

They will also meet Mexico in another friendly match before settling scores against Germany, Venezuela, and the Korean Republic in Group D.
