Experienced Nigeria goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi has teamed up with Premier Soccer League, PSL side, Swallows FC till end of the season.

Akpeyi will be the first player to join Swallows after FIFA lifted their transfer ban and were able to register new players.

The 36 year old Akpeyi left Kaizer Chiefs at the end of last season after seeing out his existing contract.

He has now penned a six-month contract with the Dube Birds with an option to extend it by two years.

Akpeyi was close to joining Sekhukhune United ahead of the 2022/23 campaign but could not agree terms with the club.

He had been training with Swallows earlier in the campaign already, but at the time the Soweto side weren’t able to resolve their transfer ban, leaving the player in limbo.

Swallows will be Akpeyi’s third club in the PSL after playing for Chippa United with 104 appearances and Kaizer Chiefs with 69 outings.
