Delta Queens vs Ampem Darkoa: WAFU-B Women’s Champions League final preview

Nigeria champions, Delta Queens will take on Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa in the final of the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League in Benin City on Thursday.
Both teams topped their respective group before reaching the semifinal of the regional qualifiers showpiece at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
The Pearls of Asaba have found the back of the net eight times in the tournament averaging two goals per game and have conceded two goals which came in the semifinal 3-2 win against Athletico FC of Ivory Coast.
On their part, Ampem have been the highest scoring side in the Wafu B by netting 13 goals in three matches and conceding four goals.
The Ghanaian side whitewashed Sam Nelly 6-1 in the semifinal to reach the final of the tournament for the second time in a row after loosing the previous edition final to Bayelsa Queens.
The high prolificacy of Ampem Darkoa in goal will be an adventurous advantage to them against Delta Queens who have conceded less than their Ghanaian counterparts.
The sextuple of Chinaza Agoh, Mercy Omokwo, Taiwo Afolabi, Joy Micheal, Anderlin Mgbechi and Folajomi Olabiyi will be crucial to the Pearls winning the coveted regional tournament and sealing the remaining slot to the finals.
Meanwhile, Ampem Darkoa boast of an attacking duo of Mary Amponsah and Tracey Twum that have combined to score 10 goals, with Amponsah netting eight goals to lead the highest goal scorer chart and Twum having three goals to her name.
Delta Queens have conceded the least goals (2), while Ampem Darkoa are the highest scoring side with 13 goals scored in three matches.
