Former professional player, Desire Oparanozie, has called on the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, to extend his visits to injured Super Falcons players, following his recent visits to injured Super Eagles players.
Oparanozie expressed her concern over the apparent neglect of injured women’s national team players while their male counterparts receive attention.
She specifically highlighted the cases of Demehin and Plumptre, who are currently undergoing treatment at their respective clubs.
“It would be nice if this gesture is extended to the women’s team too. Demehin is currently injured, as well as Plumptre,” Oparanozie stated on her social media platform.
Gusau recently visited injured Super Eagles players, including Moses Simon, William Ekong, and Zaidu Sanusi, who are recuperating from injuries sustained during international matches and club games.
The visit to Simon in Nantes, Ekong in Thessaloniki, and Sanusi in Porto was aimed at showing support and solidarity with the players during their recovery processes.
Oparanozie’s call reflects the need for equal attention and care for both male and female national team players during times of injury or challenges.
