Ebuehi Suffers Setback in ADO Den Haag Warm-Up, Ambrose Shines in Hibernian Draw

Super Eagles right-back Tyronne Ebuehi faced a disappointing setback as he suffered a relapse of his hamstring injury during ADO Den Haag’s warm-up before their clash against Excelsior at the Van Donge and De Roo Stadium on Friday night. The 21-year-old defender, initially named in the starting lineup, was replaced by Hennos Asmelash just before the game commenced. The relapse raises doubts about Ebuehi’s availability for Nigeria’s upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Serbia.

Despite the injury setback, ADO Den Haag demonstrated resilience, securing a 2-1 victory over Excelsior in the Dutch Eredivisie clash. A second-half brace from Maars Johnson overturned Milan Massop’s early goal for Excelsior, propelling ADO Den Haag to the eighth position with 39 points from 28 games.

In another Friday night encounter, Nigerian defender Efe Ambrose showcased his goal-scoring prowess as Hibernian drew 1-1 against St. Johnstone in a Scottish Premiership clash. Ambrose headed home in the second minute, setting the tone for the match. However, Hibernian faced adversity when goalkeeper Ofir Marciano received a red card in the 14th minute. Despite the numerical disadvantage, the hosts secured a point with Christopher Kane’s 83rd-minute goal.

Meanwhile, in Turkey, Aminu Umar contributed 74 minutes in Osmanlispor’s commanding 4-0 victory over Karabukspor. The Nigerian international was substituted for Payam Sadeghi in the 74th minute. Kenneth Omeruo and Emem Eduok played pivotal roles for 10-man Kasimpasa, although they suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to Antalyaspor. Omeruo completed the full game, while Eduok was substituted in the 54th minute for Bengali Fode.
