Edna Imade bags brace as Real Sociedad hold Granada in thrilling draw

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Nigeria forward Edna Imade continued her fine form in Spain, scoring twice to help Real Sociedad earn a 2–2 draw against her former club Granada in a Liga F clash on Saturday.
The hosts went ahead in the 35th minute through Sonya Keefe, who converted from the penalty spot.
Imade levelled matters seven minutes later, finishing off a clever pass from Intza Eguiguren to make it 1–1 before halftime.
The Nigerian forward struck again in the 87th minute, this time from Andreia Jacinta’s assist, seemingly sealing the win for Sociedad.
However, Maria Barquero netted a late equaliser to ensure both sides shared the spoils.
Imade, who featured for the full 90 minutes, has now scored four league goals this season for Real Sociedad — where she is currently on loan from Bayern Munich.
The result leaves Real Sociedad third on the Liga F table with 14 points from seven matches.
Up next for the Basque side is a league clash against Eibar on October 19, 2025.
