Edo Queens Draw ASEC Mimosa in Tough WAFU-B Women’s Champions League Group

NWFL Premiership champions Edo Queens have been handed a challenging Group B draw in the 2026 WAFU-B Women’s Champions League qualifiers.

The Nigerian champions will face defending champions ASEC Mimosa of Côte d’Ivoire, who defeated fellow Nigerian side Bayelsa Queens on penalties to claim the 2025 title.

Edo Queens will also battle Ampem Darkoa of Ghana and AS GNN of Niger Republic for a place in the knockout stages.

Group A features hosts USFAS of Burkina Faso, Dynamique of Benin Republic and ASKO of Togo.

In 2024, Edo Queens won WAFU-B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in their debut campaign on the continent qualifying for the main tournament.

At the CAF Women’s Champions League, they finished fourth after losing the semi final to champions, TP Mazembe (DR Congo) and the third place match to FC Masar (Egypt).

The 2026 WAFU-B Women’s Champions League qualifiers are scheduled to run from August 23 to September 5, with the eventual winners earning the zone’s ticket to the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.
