Edo Queen’s foes Hasaacas Ladies get cash boost for WAFU-B Champions League

Edo Queen’s opponents Hasaacas Ladies of Ghana has received a cash boost from Ghana Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the 2024 West African Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League Qualifiers this month.

The Vice President donated a whooping $10, 000 to the team on Thursday morning as the funds will aid the team in their preparations for the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifiers in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

The donation was presented by Tamimu Issah, Head of Communications at the Office of the Vice President and Issah emphasized the significance of the contribution, stressing that the support will bolster the team’s readiness to qualify for the 2024 Women’s Champions League.

Hasaacas Ladies, which won the maiden edition of the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League, is returning to the tournament after its triumph in 2021.

They defeated Premier League side, Winneba 4-1 in their latest friendly match this week.

The Ghanaian champions will face Edo Queens from Nigeria, Omnisports Etincelle (Burkina Faso), and AS Garde Nationale (Niger Republic) in Group B of the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League from August 10 to 23, 2024.

The winner of the tournament will qualify for the fourth edition of CAF Women’s Champions League taking place later this year.
