Egypt 2023: Gambia coach Bojang warns Nigeria ahead of AFCON U20 semifinal

Abdoulie Bojang, head coach of the Gambia U20 national team has sent a strong warning to his side’s next opponent, Nigeria ahead of their semifinal clash in the U20 African Cup of Nations, AFCON duel on Monday.
The Gambia team are one of the teams that secured their place in the FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia as the Central African team, who inished third in the last edition of U20 AFCON in 2019 are yet to taste defeat in Egypt
Bojang is looking beyond clinching a spot at the FIFA U-20 World Cup but keen on winning the championship.
“We have qualified to the World Cup and to the semi-finals again. Last edition the team were bronze medalists and this time we wanted to improve on that,” Bojang told CAFonline.com.
“The next opponent is Nigeria. It’s a very important game now we have to forget about the South Sudan game.
“We’ve already qualified, now we’re looking for the gold medal, but we have to win the Nigeria game so we can reach the final and clinch the gold.”
The semifinal encounter between the Gambia and Flying Eagles is billed for Cairo International Stadium on Monday by 6pm.
