Emmanuel Amuneke reveals ambition, preferred title target with Heartland
By Wale Mustapha
Newly appointed Technical Adviser of Heartland FC, Emmanuel Amuneke has promised to help the club return to it’s glory days in Nigerian club football.
Amuneke was unveiled on Monday by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State in a mini ceremony.
It will be recalled that the Naze Millionaires suffered relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL last season and are set to compete in the lower division this coming season.
Amuneke said his immediate task is to help the Owerri club return to the top-flight.
“I am someone with objective and I do not involve myself in something that I am not capable of doing.
“I remember when I was unveiled as the coach of Tanzania one of the things I told them was that we would qualify for AFCON 2019 but everybody thought it was a joke but eventually we were able to qualify them for the AFCON for the first time after 39 years.
“Please, be rest assured that we will make sure that with your support we will take Heartland FC back to where it used to be,” Amuneke said at the unveiling ceremony.
The former Super Eagles’ winger has had coaching experience both in the national and club football in past.
