England and Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand wished the Red Devils chose to go for Napoli and Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen ahead his fellow country man, Harry Kane.
Manchester United are still looking for a permanent signing of a center forward in the summer and the Super Eagle drawing the eyeballs following his outstanding performances for Napoli this season as the Serie A leaders will have their hands full in the summer on how to keep hold on to their front man whose price value is now above £100m.
The future of Harry Kane is a subject of speculation as to whether the Tottenham striker will renew his contract that is due by next season, with several British clubs including Manchester United in line to sign the England captain.
However, the former Manchester United defender insists he would chose Osimhen to be the centerman for the Old Trafford club because of his youthful age, business value and qualities.
“I think if I was talking about investing and looking after my money, I’d probably go for Osimhen,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“There’s resale value with his age at 24 years old. It’s gonna be a huge outlay. I’d take either. I’ve got be honest with you, if Manchester United add either of those two players you mentioned to their roster they become title contenders.
“On form he’s [Osimhen] flying. You’ve got Rashford and him who are absolutely flying in terms of form. But when you talks about the best players in the world, the Mbappes of this world are still levels above.”
Other clubs that will join the bidding war for the services of Osimhen in the summer are Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea.
