By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The highly anticipated Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 7 clash between Enyimba International and Rivers United ended in a goalless draw at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba on Sunday.

Both sides created several scoring opportunities but were unable to find the breakthrough, as goalkeepers on both ends stood firm to preserve clean sheets.

Despite the stalemate, Enyimba maintained their hold on second position in the standings, cutting Nasarawa United’s lead at the top to three points, while Rivers United slipped to fourth with 12 points from six matches.

Elsewhere, Abia Warriors climbed to third place following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kwara United in Ilorin.
Emeka Obioma converted from the penalty spot just three minutes into the second half, marking his second goal in as many matches for Imama Amapakabo’s side.

At the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Ibadan, Shooting Stars continued their fine form with a dramatic 1-0 win over Plateau United, thanks to Ismail Ayodele’s stoppage-time strike that sent the home fans into wild celebrations.

Warri Wolves recorded one of the day’s biggest results, sealing an impressive 1-0 away victory over Barau FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
Justus Ohanu’s 29th-minute goal was enough to hand the visitors all three points.

In Yenagoa, Bayelsa United and Ikorodu City shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
Emo James gave the hosts the lead in the 26th minute before Tosin Oyedokun equalised for the visitors seven minutes from time.
