Eric Chelle Keen to Continue as Super Eagles Coach Beyond AFCON 2025

Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle has expressed his desire to remain in charge of the Nigerian national team beyond the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, reaffirming his commitment to the long-term development of the squad despite their semi-final exit.

The French-born tactician believes the team is still a work in progress and has outlined plans to further strengthen the Super Eagles by expanding the player pool and improving squad depth.

“If God gives me the chance to continue after AFCON, I would love to bring more players back for the team,” Chelle said, stressing his ambition to build a more competitive and cohesive unit capable of sustained success.

With AFCON now behind them, Nigeria will turn attention to upcoming international fixtures and qualification campaigns, providing Chelle an opportunity to implement his ideas more fully and shape the team for future challenges.

Chelle’s comments come amid growing support from fans and stakeholders who have praised Nigeria’s overall performance at the tournament and are calling for continuity on the bench as the Super Eagles look ahead.
