Eric Chelle: NFF House hunts in Abuja for new Super Eagles coach

By Wale Mustapha

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is on the lookout for an apartment in Abuja for newly appointed Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle.

Chelle, who was appointed as the permanent coach of the Super Eagles last year, is currently in Europe to meet with some of the team’s key players ahead of the critical 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March.

The 47-year-old is expected to return to Nigeria before the end of February.

Upon his arrival, the NFF will present a selection of apartments for the former Mali international to choose from, as he settles into his new role.

In a shift from the previous practice, Chelle has agreed to live and work in Nigeria.

The NFF prefers that he stays in a home rather than a hotel, a contrast to the arrangements made for the Super Eagles’ last two foreign coaches, Gernot Rohr and Jose Peseiro, who both lived in hotels during their tenures.
