Nigeria’s U20 Women’s National Team have resumed camping in Abuja as preparations intensify for their upcoming FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Senegal.
The team officially opened camp on Saturday, January 4, 2026, at the Westpoint Hotel, Abuja, marking the beginning of an intensive preparation programme ahead of the crucial third-round qualifier.
A total of 17 players are currently in camp, with more invited players expected to arrive in the coming days to complete the squad. Training sessions are already underway, with a strong focus on team cohesion, tactical organisation and physical conditioning.
Head coach Moses Aduku confirmed that preparations are progressing as planned, noting that the technical crew is carefully assessing players while implementing structured training sessions aimed at achieving peak readiness.
“The preparations are on course,” Aduku said. “We are focusing on tactical discipline, game intelligence and overall team organisation to ensure we are fully ready for the challenge ahead.”
Nigeria will host the first leg of the third-round qualifying fixture at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, on Saturday, February 7, while the return leg is scheduled for Saturday, February 14 in Dakar, Senegal.
The 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup will be staged in Poland, with the Falconets aiming to extend their remarkable record of qualifying for every edition of the tournament since its inception.
