Federation Cup: Edith Agoye happy with Sunshine Stars’ Round of 64 win over Basira

Head coach of Sunshine Stars, Edith Agoye has praised his side following their Round of 64 Federation Cup 2-0 win over Nigeria League One (NLO) side Basira FC.
Agoye’s side put up a dominant display as two goals in the first 30 minutes of the encounter, were all they needed to secure a spot in the last 32.
David Onovo gave the NPFL side the lead in the 11th minute before Yusuf Ibrahim doubled the lead just three minutes to the half-hour, converting a penalty after Vincent Temitope was fouled in Basira’s 18-yard box.
Speaking after the match, Agoye his team for a job well done and the opposition for a fierce battle.
“Basira FC are no pushovers, they played well and they gave a good fight no doubt, but the better side won,” said the Sunshine Stars boss.
Sunshine Stars will now turn their attention back to the NPFL as a visit to Bayelsa United on Sunday, await them at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenegoa.
They would return to Cup action again, next week, when after draws have been held for Wednesday, May 5th’s Round of 32.
