Captain of Nigeria’s Flamingos, Alvine Dah Zossu says the fans will be proud of the team at the end of their semi-final clash with Colombia on Wednesday.
The former Osun Babes player has missed the team’s recent games and is expected to return for the semi-final clash but the Rivers Angels player asserted that the camp is calm and ready for Colombia’s challenge.
“The mood is very high for us. We have been training and working hard with the hope of winning the match by God’s grace,” says Dah Zossu followed by nigeriafootball.ng on NFFTV.
“Playing Colombia is like every other match but on the pitch, we are all the same. We are not scared of them at all. I want to say we are going to surprise and impress Nigerians.”
On Wednesday, history-making Coach Bankole Olowookere will again bank on goalkeeper Faith Omilana, defenders Miracle Usani, Tumininu Adeshina, Comfort Folorunsho, and Blessing Emmanuel, midfielders Taiwo Afolabi, Alvine Dah-Zossu and Blessing Sunday, and forwards Opeyemi Ajakaye, Edidiong Etim and Aminat Omowunmi Bello.
“There is a high expectation of victory. Everybody is in high spirits. We have really prepared for this. After the quarter-final, now is the semi-final and we are hoping for a victory,” Emmanuel disclosed.
“We have watched Colombia’s clips to see that they are not a weak side getting to the semi-final. With what our coaches have given to us, we can be able to get victory over them.”
Nigeria’s U17 girls, Flamingos have already pulled up a few trees at the ongoing U17 Women’s World Cup finals, but they feel even more motivated to reach the final at the expense of Colombia whom also play in the first semi-final.
