Rivers United coach Finidi George has emphasized the difficulties of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following his team’s unbeaten start to the 2024/2025 season, capped by a 2-0 victory over Enyimba at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
With three wins and a draw in their first four matches, Finidi expressed pride in the team’s performance, noting that the league’s competitiveness is often underestimated.
“We are quite happy with our run in the league, even if it’s not 100% perfect,” he said.
He further raised the challenges teams face, stating, “Every game is difficult in the NPFL. People don’t know; they just feel that if you get a draw, you would have won it.”
Looking ahead, Rivers United will host Akwa United on Sunday, October 6th, as they seek to build on their impressive start, currently holding ten points from four games.
