Nigeria forward Flourish Chioma Sabastine made an impressive debut for Turkish club Galatasaray, providing an assist in a commanding 4-1 victory over Amed on Sunday.
Sabastine set up Andrea Staskova’s hat-trick goal during stoppage time, showcasing her playmaking abilities right from the start.
In addition to Staskova’s outstanding performance, Hapsatou Diallo also found the back of the net for Galatasaray, while Juliette Nana scored the lone goal for Amed.
Currently competing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL), Galatasaray is positioned sixth in the league standings, accumulating 12 points after seven matches—nine points behind leaders Galatasaray.
Sabastine joined Galatasaray from Stade de Reims in France on a one-year contract, reuniting with Super Falcons center back Blessing Demehin.
Born in 2004, Sabastine began her career at Unnich Football Academy before moving on to Bayelsa Queens and then Stade de Reims. She was a key player for the Nigeria U-20 team at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where the team reached the quarterfinals.
Her impressive performances earned her a maiden call-up to the senior women’s national team the same year and she made her senior debut against Japan in 2023.
