Folashade Ijamilusi Shines with First-Half Goal in Dominant Home Win for Liaoning

Liaoning Shenbei Hefeng delivered a commanding performance on home soil, sweeping aside Yongchuan Chashan with a 4–0 victory in Round 9 of the Chinese Women’s Super League.
The standout of the first half was Ijamilusi Folashade, who continued her impressive season by netting her second goal in the 28th minute. The Nigerian winger’s strike set the tone for a clinical team performance.
Starting on the right flank, Folashade was electric from the opening whistle—confident on the ball, threatening in one-on-one duels, and tireless in her pressing. Her goal came just before the half-hour mark, capping off a flowing attacking move. After a sharp combination on the edge of the box, she timed her run to perfection, slipped in behind the Chongqing backline, and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner past the onrushing goalkeeper.
That goal extended Liaoning’s lead to 3–0, giving them complete control of the contest.
Yingu Zhou had opened the scoring, before Aifang Wang doubled the advantage and later added a second to make it 4–0, sealing the result.
Even after scoring, Folashade remained a constant menace—cutting inside to combine with teammates, drawing fouls in advanced areas, and working back defensively to support her fullback. By the time she was substituted in the second half, her job was well done.
While Wang’s brace added the finishing touches, it was Folashade’s early spark that unlocked Chongqing and tilted the game firmly in Liaoning’s favor.
This performance further cements Folashade’s growing reputation in the league. With two goals this season and an increasingly influential presence on the pitch, she’s proving to be not just a winger with flair, but a difference-maker when it counts most.
Liaoning now sit second in the league standings with 18 points from nine matches, trailing leaders Jiangsu Suning by two points and staying one point ahead of reigning champions Wuhan Jiangda, who still have a game in hand.
Liaoning’s next test comes on June 21, 2025, when they travel to face Guangzhou Meizhou.
