Former Nigeria senior national team midfielder, Wilson Oruma has a lawsuit for defamation of character and fake news relating to his ill health.
Oruma claimed that scammers used the “fake news” using his old pictures and videos to dupe fans through donations and funding.
The former Sochaux player made a counter video to debunk the report of his illness and in two separate suits, the accused were issued seven days to meet Oruma’s demands.
The 46-year-old played most of his club career in France where he played for RC Lens, Nancy, Nimes, Servette, Sochaux, Marseille, and Guingamp.

The former Nigeria midfielder played 19 times over 11 years for Nigeria and was part of the team that participated in the 1998 FIFA World Cup, where he scored in the only appearance he made in the tournament against Paraguay.
Oruma was also part of 1996 Olympic gold-winning medal, a year after he debuted for Nigeria, and also a member of the Nigerian squad at the 2002 and 2006 Africa Cup of Nations, finishing the outings in third place.
