Former Rangers forward, Ally McCoist, has heaped praise on Nigeria international Cyriel Dessers for his stunning goal against Olympiacos in the Europa League.

Dessers, who has been in fine form for Rangers, scored a brilliant finish to level the score at 1-1 against the Greek giants. The goal, which showcased the striker’s clinical finishing, left McCoist in awe.

“That’s a tremendous finish, I need to say,” McCoist was quoted by Ibrox News.

Absolutely poor defending from Retsos diving in like that, that’s shocking. That said, the composure from Dessers was excellent—he side-steps the defender, gives the goalkeeper the eyes, and then calmly places it back across into the far corner. That is a lovely finish.”

The goal was a key moment in the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, as Rangers now sit tenth in the Europa League standings with seven points from four matches.
