Galatasaray fans launch Times Square billboard campaign urging Osimhen to stay

By Monsurah Olatunji

In an extraordinary show of devotion, Galatasaray supporters have taken their campaign to retain Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen to new heights—literally—by unveiling a billboard in New York City’s Times Square with a heartfelt message: “Stay with us.”

The striking advertisement features Osimhen’s image alongside the direct appeal, as fans ramp up efforts to convince the 26-year-old striker to extend his stay in Istanbul beyond the end of his current loan spell.

Osimhen, whose future remains uncertain, is weighing several high-profile options.

These include a permanent move to Galatasaray—who are reportedly prepared to meet financial demands—a lucrative deal from a Saudi Arabian club, and possible transfers to top-tier European sides, aligning with his long-expressed career ambitions.

Despite the external interest, Osimhen has forged a strong emotional bond with Galatasaray and its fans, a connection reflected in his decision to reject a January approach from Manchester United in favor of honoring his loan commitment to the Turkish champions.

While the Nigerian international has demonstrated loyalty, securing his long-term future remains a more complex challenge. Galatasaray’s competitive limitations compared to elite European clubs could influence Osimhen’s next move.

The Times Square billboard, first reported by Turkish outlet Forca Cimbom, marks the most high-profile appeal yet in a growing campaign.

It follows a series of fan-led efforts including a massive banner displayed during Galatasaray’s title-clinching victory over Kayserispor, reading: “Stay with us, Osi! Not because you have to but because you want to.”

The campaign has also gone viral online under the hashtag #StayWithUsOsimhen, showcasing the club’s global fanbase and their emotional investment in the striker’s future.

As the summer transfer window nears, Osimhen’s decision will be closely watched not only by Galatasaray supporters but by major clubs across Europe and beyond.
