Galatasaray set to keep Victor Osimhen despite Premier League interest

Galatasaray have decided not to sell Victor Osimhen this summer, despite growing interest in the Nigeria striker from Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Arsenal.
The Turkish champions are understood to have reaffirmed that Osimhen is not available for transfer as they prepare for the new season. The 27-year-old still has a contract with Galatasaray until 2029 and is regarded as a key part of the club’s long-term plans.
Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Istanbul throughout the summer after another impressive campaign. He scored 22 goals in all competitions and played a major role in Galatasaray winning their fourth successive Turkish Super Lig title.
The club also reached the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, with Osimhen’s goals and performances making him one of the most sought-after forwards in European football.
Interest in the Super Eagles striker has increased in recent days, particularly from the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race as they look to strengthen their attack before the new campaign.
Tottenham are facing uncertainty over the future of Brazilian forward Richarlison, while concerns about Dominic Solanke’s injury record have added to the club’s desire to sign another centre-forward. Osimhen has consequently emerged as a potential marquee addition for the London club.
Manchester United and Arsenal are also monitoring the situation, although Spanish champions Barcelona have withdrawn from the race and are no longer considering a deal for the Nigeria international this summer.
Galatasaray’s position means they are not expected to listen to offers from Tottenham or any of the other clubs showing interest. The Turkish side see Osimhen as central to their plans and want to build their team around him for years to come.
That stance is a significant blow to Premier League clubs hoping to complete a high-profile signing before the transfer window closes. Galatasaray’s control of the situation is strengthened by the length of Osimhen’s contract, which runs until 2029.
Unless there is a dramatic change in circumstances, Osimhen is expected to remain in Istanbul. He will be tasked with leading Galatasaray’s attempt to win a fifth consecutive Turkish Super Lig title and helping the club improve on its UEFA Champions League performances next season.
The decision ends, for now, speculation that Osimhen could leave the Turkish champions after just one of his latest outstanding seasons. With Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal still interested, however, the forward’s future is likely to remain a major talking point until the transfer window shuts.
