Gbenga Elegbeleye explains reason behind NPFL U17 Youth League establishment

Chairman of Nigeria Premier League board Honorable Gbenga Elegbeleye, says the decision to introduce the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL U17 Youth League was to groom more stars for the teams and for the country.
While inaugurating the committee on Thursday, Honorable Elegbeleye said it will be saddled with the running of the youth league, with the objective of nurturing young talent and providing them the platform to develop.
The former Director General of National Sports Commission expressed confidence in the committee to organize and deliver a league that will be worthy of emulation.
“We have seen you as one of those who can do it,” Elegbeleye told the committee.
“we see you as a tool that can make the system of youth football really propelling the ecosystem to work. That is why you are selected carefully based on the tool.”
In a response, chairman of the committee for the U17 Youth League, Pastor Emeka Inyama appreciated the board for finding him and his members worthy to serve in that capacity just as he assured the board of their total commitment to make it a success.
Other members of the committee are Chairman of Benue State Football Association, Barrister Paul Edeh, his counterpart from Bauchi and former Nigeria international, Patrick Pascal, Nicholas Morris Kemeghde, Vice Chairman of Lagos State FA, Hajj Gafar Liameed, who is also the proprietor of NNL Side, 36 Lion while NPFL Head of Competitions, Dr. Sunday Obaseki will serve as Secretary.
