German-Nigerian striker Chilohem Onuoha joins TSV Hartberg on loan
German-Nigerian centre-forward Chilohem Onuoha has joined Austrian Bundesliga club TSV Hartberg on loan from Estrela Amadora.
The 21-year-old has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027, moving to Austria after six months with the Portuguese side. Onuoha joined Estrela from 1. FC Koln on a free transfer in January 2026.
Onuoha arrives at Hartberg after a productive spell in German football with SC Verl. He made 33 appearances in the 3. Liga, scoring six goals and providing five assists, while also helping Verl win the Westphalia Cup during the 2025-26 campaign.
He was the competition’s leading scorer in that tournament, finishing with six goals. The forward also previously spent time in 1. FC Koln’s system, having joined the club from RB Leipzig’s Under-19 side in July 2024 before moving to SC Verl on loan.
Born in Berlin on 7 May 2005, Onuoha stands 1.88m tall and can use either foot. His move to Hartberg continues a sequence of transfers across Germany, Portugal and Austria since leaving Hertha BSC’s youth set-up.
Onuoha began his youth career with Fuchse before joining Hertha BSC in 2019. He later won the German Under-17 Bundesliga North/North-east title with Hertha BSC Under-17 in the 2021-22 season, ahead of his move to Leipzig the following year.
His record at youth level includes seven goals in 19 appearances in the Under-19 Bundesliga North/North-east and five goals in 14 Under-17 Bundesliga appearances. He also scored six times in six Westphalia Cup matches for Verl.
The move gives Onuoha a new opportunity in the Austrian top flight after his brief spell in Portugal. Estrela Amadora are scheduled to take him back at the end of the loan on 30 June 2027, with Hartberg securing his services for the 2026-27 campaign.
