Gift Monday inspires Tenerife comeback victory with goal and assist against Bilbao

Nigeria international Gift Monday continued her impressive form on Costa Adeje Tenerife return, with a goal and an assist for a 2-1 comeback win over Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
After scoring for Nigeria against Algeria in an international friendly match, the former Rivers Angels loanee made a stunning display to earn the Player of the Match gong.
On the day, Ane Elexpuru scored the first goal for Bilbao in the fifth minute with a left-footed strike from the edge of the box.
Monday was at the end of Aleksandra Zaremba’s cross to head home, her side’s equalizer.
The former Robo Queens forward also assisted Nina Richard for the second goal which won the match in the 44th minute.
She also had the chance to score another goal in the first half but her header went wide.
The Super Falcons star played the duration of the match as she scored her fourth league goal of the season with two assists.
Her compatriot, Rinsola Babajide was an unused substitute for Costa Adeje Tenerife.
Costa Adeje Tenerife increased their points haul to 12 after eight games.
They will next face Guiniguada Apolinaria in the Copa de la Reina on November 6, 2024.
