By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Washington Spirit forward Gift Monday continues to turn heads in the NWSL, netting her fourth goal in just eight matches during a 3-1 victory over North Carolina Courage.
Her teammate, Brittany Ratcliffe, praised the Nigerian star, calling her “the best” and a complete player who “does it all” – from finishing and defending to bringing unmatched energy on and off the pitch.
“She’s silky… she works hard… she’s always dancing, always smiling,” Ratcliffe said, highlighting both Monday’s skillset and vibrant personality.
The 22-year-old’s rapid adaptation and consistent impact have made her a standout signing of the 2025 season, with many touting her as a future league star.
Monday joined Washington Spirit from Costa Adeje Tenerife in Spain this season. She previously played for Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, FC Robo Queens.
