Glory Ogbonna and Taiwo lawal on target as Besiktas edge Unye Kadin in Turkiye

Two Nigerian players, Glory Ogbonna and Taiwo Lawal found the back of the net for either sides as Besiktas pipped Unye Kadin 2-1 in the Turkiye Women’s Super League (WSL) on Sunday.

Kome Fadimatou scored the opener for Besiktas in the 11th minute of play.

A minute after the half hour mark, Lawal restored parity for Unye Kadin.

On the dot of 90th minute, Ogbonna scored the winner for Besiktas.

The goal was her first in the league this season for Besiktas.

Lawal on the other side has scored four goals in the league for her side.

Besiktas occupy the third position on the league log with 40 points after 18 games ahead of their next match with Trabzonspor on March 9, 2025.

Relatively, Unye Kadin seats in the 11th position with 14 points.

They will next host Fatih Vatan Spor in the league on March 9.
