Gombe United’s Zubairu aims to compound Nasarawa woes after El-Kanemi defeat

Technical Adviser of Gombe United Aliyu Zubairu is already looking forward to securing a decent result when his side take on Nasarawa United in their next Nigeria Premier Football League fixture on Saturday.
The Savannah Scorpions piped struggling El-Kanemi Warriors 1-0 through Anayo Ogbonna strike and the win took Gombe to sixth on the log with 17 points, keeping alive their chances of the claiming a NPFL Super Six berth.
The Wikki Tourists of Bauchi insists that his side are mentally focus to get more positive result as they face another struggling Solid Miners in their next fixtures.
“I can tell you that we have a squad capable of winning away from home; our performances in away fixtures weren’t that bad – so far, we have recorded four draws out of six,” Zubairu told NigeriaFootball.ng.
“The officiating in the league has improved tremendously, and if that will continue, I’m very optimistic that before the season wraps up, we’ll get a win on the road, and our mission remained the same against Nasarawa United,” he said.
The former Wikki Tourists’ gaffer added that with five matches remaining, the Savannah Scorpions are still in contention for Super Six as long as they will pick away points.
